Omdat het geplande paviljoen van Snohetta en Olafur Eliasson onmogelijk op tijd klaar zou zijn, heeft de Londense Serpentine Gallery aan Zaha Hadid gevraagd om deze zomer een tijdelijk paviljoen te maken (zie afbeelding). Ze deed dat al eerder in 2001. De lijst met niet uitgevoerde paviljoens wordt zo almaar groter; ook MVRDV en Frei Otto tekenden al eerder een tijdelijk gebouw, dat niet tot uitvoering kwam. Uit het persbericht: "Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid and Patrik Schumacher, Partner at Zaha Hadid Architect's will design a temporary installation on the occasion of the Gallery's world-renowned fundraiser The Summer Party, which will take place on 11 July.
The installation is designed as an open air space, 5.5 meters in height that consists of three identical fabric structures or parasols arrayed around a central point.
